April 29, 2023: We lost a mentor
Kalinga Vihar Community Welfare Association fondly remembers one of its most distinguished residents Prof. D. P. Ray, an Agriculture Scientist of the highest repute, who breathed his last on April 29, 2023. He was a great soul and a great mentor who had been the VC of OUAT for two terms being the Chancellor of SOA university in his last days. He was a fellow of the Indian Academy of Agriculture Science. He had been a former president of our association. We are extremely sad that his vision and guidance will not be available to us any more.

There was an early morning visit of Kalinga Vihar K5, by the BMC commissioner Shri A. V. Kulange on June 19, 2023. We had some very useful discussions on management of various facilities (parks, Community health centre etc) developed by BDA, and possible relocation of certain shops that are creating health hazards. It was heartening to see the BMC Commissioner in the colony at 7:00 AM in the morning !
Under the leadership of Dr. P. K. Swain, our "Health Adviser" we had organized a "Clean KV-5" awareness program on July 23, 2023. The program started early in the morning with a large number of members assembling in the community center. From there we walked through different lanes sensitizing people to keep the area clean.
